The Edgewood Mutual Aid Initiative, led by ONE, is a community-driven effort aimed at supporting Edgewood residents in need. It offers direct, flexible emergency financial assistance for urgent issues like rent, utilities, food, transportation, and crises, emphasizing care and solidarity.

Anyone can face hard times. This fund exists so neighbors can support neighbors — with dignity, trust, and compassion — ensuring resources flow directly to those who need them most. ALL donations go straight to residents, and the process is overseen by Edgewood volunteers committed to fairness and transparency.

 

How It Works

Residents apply online, undergoing a transparent, three-stage review process:

1. Intake & Eligibility Review: Coordinators verify residency, household details, and need.

2. Evaluation & Prioritization: A committee assesses applications based on hardship indicator to prioritize funding.

3. Disbursement: Approved applicants receive directfinancial gifts as funds allow.

 

How You Can Help

The fund is powered entirely by volunteers and community advocates. Make an impact by:
Volunteering

• Serve as an Intake Coordinator, Evaluation Committee member, or Communications Lead

• Assist with outreach, fundraising, maintaining resources, data tracking and reporting

Advocating

• Spread awareness to neighbors, local groups, and businesses

• Share community success stories and encourage participation
