2027 - Board Elections
Join ONE's Board of Directors!
Nine (9) Board seats are open for election at the November ONE membership meeting.
ONE is looking for neighbors from across Edgewood who want to help shape the future of our neighborhood and put the Edgewood Neighborhood Plan into action.
Who can run?
You may be eligible to run for the ONE Board if you:
-
Are 18 or older and are a current ONE member.
-
Have a current connection to Edgewood — such as living, working, operating a business, volunteering, or being connected to a neighborhood institution.
-
Are willing to serve as a Director for a two-year term and participate actively in Board work.
You do not need to be a longtime ONE volunteer or community leader. We want to hear from people who bring new ideas, lived experience, skills, and perspectives to the table.

What makes a strong ONE Board candidate?
We're especially interested in neighbors who:
-
Know and care about Edgewood. Listen to neighbors and want to help make the neighborhood stronger, more inclusive, and more resilient.
-
Work well with others. Can listen to different perspectives, collaborate, disagree respectfully, and help build consensus.
-
Bring a perspective we need. We want a Board that reflects all of Edgewood — renters and homeowners, different parts of the neighborhood, newer and longtime neighbors, and people with different backgrounds and experiences.
-
Bring useful skills or experience. Examples include housing, transportation, planning, finance, communications, fundraising, environmental stewardship, community organizing, nonprofit leadership, technology, or simply a strong understanding of neighborhood needs.
-
Are ready to do the work. Directors are expected to prepare for meetings, attend regularly, serve on at least one committee, disclose conflicts of interest, protect confidential information, and support Board decisions once adopted.
What does the Board do?
The Board provides strategic leadership and oversight for ONE. Directors help:
-
Advance the Edgewood Neighborhood Plan
-
Set organizational priorities and policies
-
Oversee ONE's finances and nonprofit responsibilities
-
Support and coordinate committees
-
Engage and communicate with the community
-
Help turn neighborhood ideas into action

One important thing to know
Members elect Directors. The Board then elects its Officers — President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer — from among the Directors.
So if you're interested in helping lead ONE, you don't need to decide which officer role you want. Start by running for a Director seat.
Ready to step up?
If you've ever thought, "Someone should do something about that," this is your opportunity to help make it happen.
All nine Board seats are being recruited for the November election.
